Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik

Nasi kerabu is a traditional food in Kelantan, a type of nasi ulam (steamed rice mixed with various local herbs and vegetables), in which blue-colored rice is eaten with coconut sambal (chili sauce or paste typically made from a mixture of a variety of chili peppers with coconut, shrimp paste, garlic, scallion, palm sugar).

Laksam

One of Kelantan’s famous local food is Laksam. Laksam is made from flat rice noodles topped with a thick, fish-based coconut milk gravy and served with ulam (local raw herb and fresh vegetable) and sambal.

This is different from the usual Laksa Penang or Laksa Johor. Laksam is eaten with a gravy made from fish meat and coconut milk mixed with several other condiments. The thicker the gravy, the better it tastes.

Nasi Ulam

If you feel like food in Kelantan is unhealthy and you feel guilty about your body, fret not!

You can opt for Nasi Ulam if you want a healthier meal.

Combined with several raw vegetables, paired with boiled fish dipped with budu (anchovies sauce), you will taste all the flavor in your mouth!

Mee Celup

Different from mee rebus Kelantan, Mee Celup has a stronger taste and combined with many condiments.

It has few similarities to the Thai soup noodles.

It comes with lime and assorted sauces on the side to enhance the flavor. You can eat it with chicken, beef, tripe, and even chicken feet!

The name “Mee Celup” comes from the way they make it. They will cook the soup first, then dip (celup) the mee, bee hoon, or kuey teow in hot boiling water, then they will add it into the soup.

Maggi Ketam

We always eat Maggi with eggs, have you tried Maggi with crab? Maggi is one of the famous instant noodles here in Malaysia.

This Kelantan cuisine is extraordinary and will always be one of the Kelantan best foods. Crab gives the gravy a unique taste to the gravy.
